Events

The annual New Forest and Hampshire County Show is held at the end of July for 3 days in Brockenhurst and features international show jumping, lots of animals, antiques, art and lots of food and drink. The New Forest Fairy Festival is held in August and celebrates all things magical. At the end of August is the New Forest Folf Festival, a four day extravaganza of all things folk.

Activities and Attractions

The New Forest Wildlife Park is 25 acres of beautiful woodland and is home to all sorts of wildlife including otters, bison, wart hogs, wolves and lynx. A great way to enjoy nature. Keeping with the outdoor theme, Exbury Gardens is a spectacular 200 acre woodland garden famous for its rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias and is hugely colourful in Spring and Autumn. The Ringwood Brewery offers tours all year round taht includes a drink and there is a shop on site too if you have liked what you have consumed.

Moors Valley Country Park is a 1000 acre country park between Ringwood and St Leonards. It has woodland, heathland, grassland, lakes and rivers with trails to explore both on foot and by bike. The narrow gauge steam railway will take you on a mile ride but if that is too sedate then try the High Wire Adventure Course instead. For something more adrenaline filled try Matcham Karting which caters for ages from 8 years old and races in all different types of formats, from Grand Prix to Enduro.

Eating Out

Ringwood and the surrounding area offer a large range of cafes, restaurants and country pubs and caters for all budgets and tastes as well. There are too many to list here but suffice to say you will be well catered for when holidaying in the area.
